Now let’s take a closer look…
Look and Design
True, beauty is in the eye of the beholder
and both of these scales have something to brag about in the “looks”
department. Some may find it shallow but some people wanted a scale that will
look fittingly well in their kitchen because for these individuals, the kitchen
is their shrine and the extension of themselves.
Precision Pro is somewhat shaped like sleek
spaceship (“Flight of the Navigator”) with a circular platform that separates
itself from the whole unit. It looks very nice and EatSmart provides various
shades and colors for buyers to choose.
Pronto Precision Plus went with the more minimalistic look and the manufacturers were not kidding. If you want simplicity, nothing looks simpler than this one. But keep in mind, it may look simple but still looks sleek and futuristic---futuristic designs are inclined towards minimalism after all.
DigitalScaleCity’s flagship digital kitchen scale has a brushed stainless steel surface making it look metallic which would look good in any kitchen. At the moment, Pronto Precision Plus is only available in a single color.
The separate platform design and different color variants of Precision Pro may be favored by some people but the simple, sleek, and compact metallic design of the Pronto Precision Plus is a definite turn-on for customers. In this department, Precision Pro slightly edges out Pronto Precision Plus.
Score: 1-0
Longevity and Durability
The Pronto Precision Plus looks compact
without any loose parts to worry about. It also feels solid and sturdy. It
seems that you can put it just about anywhere and do just about anything with
it. That’s how durable it feels. On the other hand, the Precision Pro’s
platform can be loose and wobbly but overall, it also considerably durable but
not as much as the Pronto Precision Plus.
Both scales have 11lb limits and run on 2 AAA batteries. No experiments had been done about battery life but both scales offer auto shut-off features to save battery life.
Being more compact and solid, Pronto Precision Plus has this on the bag.
Score: 1-1
Function and Features
Both have the basic features that any
dieter or cook should want in a scale. They have large easy-to-read displays
and two buttons---Tare and Unit. Tare is an essential feature that makes it
easier for you to zero out containers and other items placed on the platform.
Both scales provide easy changes in units with a touch of button. These scales
can also be used to weigh things other than food, such as mails, books, and
light packages. This is another tie.

Accuracy and Precision
The Precision Pro and Pronto Precision Plus
are tried with a standard weight (control) and used repeatedly in various
surfaces. It concluded that both scales are accurate and precise. This is another
tie.

Price and Freebies
So far it is a tie between these two
excellent scales. Most probably, the deciding factor is the price of the digital
kitchen scales.
As of this writing, EatSmart’s Precision Pro is priced at $25.00 and comes with a Calorie Counting Guide (which can easily be found on the internet). On the other hand, DigitalScaleCity’s Pronto Precision Plus is only $16.95. This is an obvious win for the DigitalScaleCity’s Pronto Precision Plus.
